Blooming Tea

Flowering tea originates from the Yunnan province in the far south east of China, known for several different types of tea including Pu-erh. The history of flowering tea is not entirely clear, some believe it to be a modern creation whereas others trace its existence back hundreds of years.

Jasmine Pearl Tea

Jasmine Pearls green tea is made by hand by tightly rolling fine leaves and buds to form tiny pearl shaped balls. The pearls are left in a darkened room where up to six layers of tea are alternated with layers of fresh jasmine blossoms. When the pearls soak up the jasmine scent, the blossoms are removed and the pearls are dried out again to remove any moisture that was acquired during this scenting process. Jasmine tea is highly regarded in China and is often used as a welcoming gesture to guests.

Yellow Tea

This organic certified speciality yellow tea is handcrafted by Assam Heritage Tea Co. under Tea Master, Rajen Baruah, who is an Advisory Board Member from India of International Speciality Tea Association, USA. Yellow tea is one of the rarest types of teas. During ancient times, these teas were enjoyed only by the elites and royals of China. However, this particular packet of loose leaf yellow tea comes from mountain-grown organic tea gardens in Arunachal Pradesh, India. It has unique wild flowery tones that can activate your heart chakra and has incredible anti-ageing properties.

Green Tea

Green tea originated in China, but it is now grown and manufactured in a number of other East Asian countries. Green tea comes in a range of flavors, depending on the variety of Camellia sinensis used, growing conditions, horticulture practices, production processes, and harvest timing.

Oolong Tea

Assam Smoked Oolong is a rare and highly unusual tea to come from Assam in India. There are hardly any estates that produce oolong tea in Assam. We only know of two: Mothola and Doomni. After some searching around for Assam oolongs, and establishing that this in particular is one amazing tea, we managed to source some of this Smoked Oolong from renowned Tea Estate.

White Tea

White tea is known to be one of the most delicate tea varieties because it is so minimally processed. White tea is harvested before the tea plant’s leaves open fully, when the young buds are still covered by fine white hairs, hence the name “white” tea.

These buds and unfurled leaves from the newest growth on the tea plant are handpicked and then quickly and meticulously dried, so the leaves are not allowed to oxidize as long as leaves plucked for green or black tea production. This minimal processing and low oxidation results in some of the most delicate and freshest tea available.

Darjeeling 2nd flush Tea

The Darjeeling Second Flush Tea is meant for those who appreciate the innate, fine strength of Darjeeling black tea. This tea flush comes with a sweet touch of muscatel that truly is a connoisseur’s delight.
This is a 2nd harvest seasonal, smooth & strong cup of one of the renowned Darjeeling tea, better enjoyed without milk. The second flush tea also produces a rich colour and has a stronger aroma.

Darjeeling First flush Tea

Darjeeling First Flush leaves are generally younger and undergo less processing and oxidation than other varieties of black tea. It gives processed First Flush leaves a greener appearance than their counterparts.

Later tea flushes such as; the Second Flush teas are harvested from May to June, or the Monsoon Flush teas are harvested from June to October are characterized by stronger and bolder flavours. However, these flavours are noticeably less complex than that of the First Flush. They also experience more intense oxidation during their processing, resulting in a darker tea.

Special Green Tea

Green tea is a type of tea that is made from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds that have not undergone the same withering and oxidation process used to make oolong teas and black teas. Green tea originated in China, but its production and manufacture has spread to many other countries in Asia.

Several varieties of green tea exist, which differ substantially based on the variety of C. sinensis used, growing conditions, horticultural methods, production processing, and time of harvest. Although there has been considerable research on the possible health effects of consuming green tea regularly, there is little evidence that drinking green tea has any effects on health.

Golden Tea

A high grown tea produced in the Himalayan mountains, sometimes refereed to as ‘the roof of the world’. This tea has similar qualities to neighbouring Darjeeling teas, but it gives a stronger infusion. This is due to the humid climate experienced in this growing region.

Black CTC Tea

The tea estate derived its name from two words “Aam” which means Mango and “Guri” means roots of the mango tree. It is said that there were many mango trees in the area. The tea garden is located on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra and borders of Nagaland.

This tea estate, and the garden is considered a jewel in the crown. Amgoorie Tea Garden produces some of the best CTC teas in Assam. The tea is sought after by boutiques in India and Abroad.

Assam Orthodox Tea

The Assam tea plant is indigenous to Assam—initial efforts to plant the Chinese varieties in Assam soil did not succeed. Assam tea is now mostly grown at or near sea level and is known for its body, briskness, malty flavour, and strong, bright colour.

Kashmiri khawa Tea

While its exact origins are unclear, kahwa tea leaves are said to have come to Kashmir through the Spice Route, which Kashmir was a central point of. Many believe that it originated during the Kushan empire in the first and second century AD.

Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus tea is one of my customer’s favorite herbal teas!

According to Wikipedia.org, the exact origin of the plant Hibiscus rosa –sinensis is unknown. Though it has been in cultivation in China, Japan and the Pacific islands for an equally long time, it is generally thought to have originated in South China, or perhaps India. Wherever it originated, it was brought back to Europe by explorers in the 1700s. There are eight hibiscus species that are considered to be the ancestors of the modern exotic hibiscus were originally native to Mauritius, Madagascar, Fiji, Hawaii, and either China or India.

The Hibiscus lilliflorus species of hibiscus is native to the Mascarene Islands off the east coast of Africa. One of these islands, Mauritius, has been an important seaport for centuries. Back in the 1700s and 1800s it was a major stopping point for ships sailing around the southern tip of Africa on their way to or from India and China.

Blue Tea

Butterfly blue pea tea is made from the Clitorea ternatea plant. It has its origins in South East Asia and is commonly enjoyed in countries such as Thailand and Taiwan, where it is mixed with honey and lemon. This particular drink is called ‘Nam dok Anchan’ and is served in spas.
